Master of Commerce
M.Com. Ist Semester
The admission to Master of Commerce first semester is open to the candidates who have any of the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in commerce / Business Administration with not less than 45% marks in the aggregate ; OR
- B.Com. (Hons.) Degree with not less than 45% marks in the aggregate; OR
- A graduate with Honours in Economics or Mathematics or Statistics or Commerce with not less than 45% marks in the aggregate; OR
- A graduate with 50% marks in the aggregate having offered either Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or Commerce as a subject in the examination:
Provided that in case of candidates having Bachelor’s degree of the University through Modern Indian Languages (Hindi/ Urdu/ Punjabi (Gurmukhi Script) and/or is a classical language (Sanskrit / Persian / Arabic) or Degree of any other University obtained in the same manner as recognized by the syndicate;
50% marks in the aggregate shall be calculated by M.Com. Ist Semester taking into account full percentage of marks in all the papers in the language excluding the additional optional paper, English and the elective subjects taken together; OR
- An associate of the (i) Institute of Chartered Accountant of India or England or (ii) Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India or England; OR
- A pass in the final examination conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India; OR
- Any other qualification recognized by the syndicate for this purpose.
Provided that a candidate who seeks admission on the basis of qualifications mentioned in (3) (4) & (5) above shall be required to qualify within one year from the date of admission, in a special examination in two papers on
(i) Commercial Taxation Laws and
(ii) Accounting and Auditing in accordance with the syllabus as may be prescribed by the senate.
Subjects : All subjects being taught in the college are compulsory
M.Com. IIIrd Semester
Admission to M.Com. IIIrd semester shall be open to the students, who have passed 1st & 2nd semester examinations respectively, or covered under re-appear Regulation No. 9 given at Page 328 P.U. Calendar Vol. II, 2005. In addition to compulsory papers, options will be taught as per the facilities available in the college.
Subjects : All subjects being taught in the college are compulsory.
