College Magazine (UDAR)

To encourage creativity and literary interests of the students, acollege magazine ‘Udar’ is published annually. This magazine provides an opportunity to the students to publish their articles in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Planning Forum. Mrs. Amarjit Kaur is the Chief Editor.

N.C.C

To encourage discipline, unity and equality among students, the facility of N.C.C is made available. Special concessions are available to students after they pass ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate for higher education and for seeking jobs.

COMPUTER CENTRE

The college has four computer labs with networking facilities. The labs have 24 hours internet connectivity. The staff and students can avail this facility as per schedule of the college.

Audio Visual Facilities

There is a spacious seminar hall with a seating capacity of 100 persons. The College has facility of L.C.D. Projector and Over Head Projector. A wide range of educational CD’s are available. A separate cell to help and train the teachers to prepare Multimedia / Audio Visual presentations and teaching packages has been set up.

Suggestion Boxes

Suggestion boxes have been placed at prominent places in the college. These are used to redress grievances of the students and to improve facilities in the college.

Students Feed Back

There is a provision to get feed back from the students about the functioning of the College. The outgoing graduates fill up a feed back proforma. The information given in the proforma is kept confidential.

Tutorial Groups

Every student is assigned a tutorial group in which the tutors personally look after and guide the students. If need be, the guardians of the students are informed about the educational and cultural activities of the students. Tutorial meetings are often held in which the attendance is mandatory. There is a special fine on being absent.

Facility For Hostel (girls)

Co-curricular Activities

Many societies, clubs and forums are operating in the college. Students are encouraged to participate in various personality development programmes such as debates, seminars, group discussions, camps etc.

N.S.S

To inculcate the feeling of public welfare, national service and dignity of labour, separate units of NSS for boys and girls are established in the college. The students, who attend NSS camps, get special benefit while seeking admission for higher education and jobs.

Remedial/special Coaching Classes

Special classes are organized to remove the deficiency of the students especially in the subject of English. Remedial classes are also arranged for students from weaker sections, minorities and girls.

Students Welfare Council

To ensure students participation in decision making Students Welfare Council is formed from amongst the college students. It provides a platform for the students to discuss the educational, co-curricular and student welfare activities and share these with the Principal, Dean and Staff. It also aims at the grievance redressal of the students. Prof. Madan Singh Bhandari is its Dean. The selection of the student representatives is made on the basis of their academic standing, outstanding achievements in sports and co-curricular activities. All-round good students are also included in this council.

Identity Card

An identity-cum-library card is issued to every student of the college. Important instructions are given in it, which every student has to follow. It is mandatory for the students of the college to Garry identity card in the College Campus and it has to be produced when demanded by the staff. In case the identity card is lost, it may be re-issued on the payment of Rs.50.

Concessional Bus Pass Facility

The students of the college are provided with the facility of bus passes at concessional rates. For this, the students have to fill a prescribed form and get it attested from the tutor. Two photographs are required for the bus pass. Passes are issued by PEPSU Road Transport Corporation and Punjab Roadways.

Youth Services Club

The main objective of this club is to inculcate the feeling of cooperation and public welfare among the youth. In addition to tours, hiking trekking & camps, proper guidance is given to encourage the cultural and artistic interests of students.
